Anodizing forms an oxide coating on aluminum for protection or to color (dye) the product per customer specifications. Briteline Extrusions has a reputation for high quality Brite Dip finishes: many customers select us for their work because our finishes look like chrome or brass. Below is a list of the most popular anodizing finishes we offer:
Anodizing tanks are 12 feet in length. Note: Briteline is building a second anodizing line with 16' maximum length in 2007.
Powder coating administers a fine powder of coloring agents that, when heated, fuse to the aluminum to form a continuous coating. Briteline Extrusions runs both an automated line and a hand booth operation. Both are designed to handle material up to 12 feet in length.
Extrusions are prepared for powder coating in a three-stage wash and pretreatment process, during which iron phosphate provides the conversion coating. After drying, the extrusions are hung on customized racks to begin the powder coating process. Briteline purchases powder coat stock and custom colors from the top suppliers in the industry.
After powder is applied with electrostatic guns, the metal is placed in one of two ovens. We use both infrared and gas ovens to cure the finish.
